Our website does not collect personal data

Our website (www.tankind.co.uk) is a simple informational site. It does not use cookies, does not run analytics or tracking software and does not contain a contact or booking form. The only way to get in touch through the site is via a mailto email link, alongside our phone number and salon address, which are displayed for your convenience.

If this changes in future (for example if we add analytics, a contact form or online booking) we will update this notice to explain what is collected and why, and add a cookie notice if needed.

What information we collect

We collect information about you when you book an appointment for a service or treatment, visit the salon for a service or treatment, buy a product or apply for a job, whether contact is in person, by phone, by email or via social media.

The information we collect may include your name, address, email address and phone number, appointment and treatment history, relevant health information you tell us about which may suggest that a service or treatment should not go ahead (eg allergies, pregnancy, skin conditions), payment and transaction information and CVs.

For clients under the age of 16, we will only keep and use their personal information with the consent of a parent, carer or guardian.

How your information will be used

In law, we are allowed to use personal information, including sharing it outside the salon, only if we have proper reason to do so, for example:

  • Fulfil a contract with you, ie to provide the service or treatment you have requested and to communicate with you about your appointments.

  • When you consent to it: we will always ask you for your consent to hold and use health and medical information, since this is “special category data” under data protection law.

  • Legitimate interests, for example to send appointment reminders or ask for feedback after a visit, where we consider this a normal and expected part of running the salon. You may opt out of this at any time.

  • Legal obligation, where we are required to keep or disclose information by law (for example financial or tax records).

We will not share your information with any other third party without your consent except to help prevent fraud, to process payments, or if required to do so by law.

Payment information

Card payments taken in the salon are processed using a third-party card payment terminal. Card details are handled directly by that processor’s secure systems; we do not store your full card details ourselves.

Employment

Information we collect about employees, the purpose it is used for and who it will be shared with is set out in our employment contracts and employee handbook.

Where your information is stored

Personal information is stored securely at our salon premises, either in a locked filing cabinet or on password-protected devices and systems used by our staff. We take reasonable steps to prevent unauthorised access, loss or disclosure of your information.

How long we keep your information

We will generally keep your identifiable information for as long as you continue to be an active client. As a matter of course, we will delete your identifiable information if you have not undertaken business with us after 2 years, unless we are required to keep it for longer for a legal or regulatory reason.

Marketing

We will not undertake phone, mail, email or SMS marketing without you first providing consent for us to do so. You can withdraw this consent, or opt out of appointment reminders and review requests, at any time by contacting us using the details below.

You have the right to:

  • ask us to correct inaccurate information

  • ask us to delete your information

  • ask us to restrict or object to certain uses of your information

  • withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent
